Our Programs & Impact — Texas Lyme Alliance
For Funders & Partners

Our Programs & Impact

What TXLA does, how it's funded, and how to get involved, organized by audience.

Our Programs

What TXLA actually does

Find-a-Doctor. We connect patients with Lyme-literate physicians, helping cut through the diagnostic delay that congenital and pediatric Lyme families face.

Advocacy. Kristina has testified before the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission and works with the Center for Lyme Action to push for policy change at the state and federal level.

Research collaboration. TXLA has partnered with researchers at UT Dallas and Stanford on patient-reported treatment studies, and maintains relationships with academic institutions including Duke, UT, and Baylor Medical.

Community & education. TXLA produces podcasts and video interviews with Lyme-literate physicians and researchers, runs patient symptom surveys, and connects patients to free peer support meetings (through Chronic Pain Anonymous, not run by TXLA directly).

Research & Training

Advancing the evidence base

Research. TXLA has collaborated with the University of Texas at Dallas and Stanford University on a patient-reported study examining Lyme disease treatments and coinfections. TXLA also runs its own Lyme-in-Texas survey to help map tick-borne illness across the state.

Physician training. TXLA does not run its own physician training program. Instead, we connect physicians to accredited, often free continuing education through ILADS (the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Educational Foundation) and Invisible International, both of which offer AMA-approved CME hours in tick-borne disease diagnosis and treatment.
